Cardano founder proposes Bitcoin Cash integration in X poll – Cointelegraph

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson recently posted a “hypothetical survey” on the X social media platform asking the crypto community if they are interested in integrating Cardano and Bitcoin Cash.

The poll received more than 12,000 votes in the first 24 hours, with an early majority of 66.3% voting “yes” to the proposal.

“Do you want Bitcoin Cash to become a Cardano partner chain upgraded with useful Proof of Work Leios, NiPoPoWs, and Ergo technologies, making it the fastest and most useful Proof of Work chain ever built? ?”

As mentioned above, Hoskinson labeled his poll hypothetical. But as Elon Musk has shown since purchasing the X Platform (formerly Twitter), it is possible to use the platform as a steering point for decision-making.

Ben Shelley, founder and CTO of blockchain company Biggest Lab, said: Posted Commenting in favor of the move, he said, “We always thought there was natural synergy between the two chains, given the shared UTXO model that allows for high scalability and decentralization.”

Although the community seems to support the idea of merging Bitcoin Cash and Cardano, it is a bit unclear how such a partnership would form and work.

On the technology side, Hoskinson used the term “partner chain.” This seems to suggest that Bitcoin Cash would need to be bridged or cross-chained in some way to work with the proposed upgrade.

Even if both development teams agree on the technical aspects of the partnership, agreement is still needed between the parties and the developer.

Hoskinson’s social media comments come as Cardano prepares for two “major upgrades” this year. As Cointelegraph recently reported, the company is preparing for the “Chang” hard fork, scheduled for sometime in the second quarter of 2024, and a new proof-of-stake model called “Ouroboros Leios.” .

The pending upgrade was praised by Hoskinson in his response to an April 7 video posted by crypto influencer Ben “Bitboy” Armstrong. In the video, Armstrong calls Cardano “dead”
