Cardinals’ Marvin Harrison Jr. is using NFLPA licensing holdout as leverage for new deal: report

Arizona Cardinals first-round draft pick Marvin Harrison Jr. has yet to sign an NFLPA licensing agreement that would allow fans to purchase the rookie’s new NFL jersey. One report says he’s looking to use that to take advantage of a bigger contract with Fanatics.

It was reported that Harrison did not sign a preliminary NFLPA licensing agreement allowing the association to promote his name, image and likeness before officially signing an NFL contract during the 2024 NFL Draft. Ta.

However, ESPN reported Friday that Harrison signed another contract with the Fanatics before his final season at Ohio State. The deal is worth more than $1 million and includes autographs, game-worn apparel and autographed trading cards.

However, a source told the outlet that Harrison is taking advantage of the fact that he hasn’t signed a licensing agreement to advance contract negotiations with Fanatics.

Not signing a licensing agreement means Harrison will also be removed from the Madden NFL video game.

The Cardinals also posted a message on their website informing fans that Harrison’s jerseys will not be available for sale until he is signed.

“Currently, no retail store may offer Marvin Harrison Jr. merchandise until Marvin Harrison Jr. signs a licensing agreement with the NFLPA,” the site states. “Once he signs, the product will be available immediately.”
