Country Star Carly Pierce’s Unfortunate Accident
In a recent video, country music artist Carly Pierce shared her unexpected trip to the hospital after a freak accident involving a glass bottle of ranch dressing.
Pierce posted the story on August 9, capturing herself attempting to apply makeup with a heavily bandaged thumb following a concert in Holmdel, New Jersey. “Getting ready with one hand,” she quipped, explaining, “I was preparing for dinner after the show and went to open a glass ranch dressing bottle.”
“When I tried to twist it open, the bottle snapped, and a shard of glass cut my thumb,” she recounted.
Initially, Pierce admitted she didn’t think much of the injury. However, as the pain intensified, she realized the cut was deeper than she had thought and that a doctor visit was necessary.
“At first, I thought ketchup was running down my hand, but it was actually blood,” she remarked, adding that paramedics on-site advised her to get stitches.
Pierce then described the ride to the emergency room, explaining, “I had no idea that once you’re in an ambulance, you have to lie on a stretcher and be strapped in.” She noted that X-rays confirmed there were no glass pieces in her thumb, but she did require stitches for the wound.
As she continues to manage her daily tasks, she reflected on the challenges she’s facing. “It’s fascinating trying to navigate daily activities while thinking about how to manage everything differently,” she mentioned while applying makeup. “My assistant even had to help shave my left armpit because I couldn’t reach it.”
“It’s all about figuring out how to do normal things, like pulling up your pants after using the restroom,” she added.
Pierce shared a lighthearted moment about how she usually holds the microphone with her dominant hand and joked about potentially adding some sparkle to her bandages while prepping for her performance at the California Orange County Fair.
She wrapped up her story with a valuable lesson: “So, the moral of the story? Be careful when opening things.” She humorously concluded with, “Like a bull in a china shop, that’s my approach!”
