Carly Pearce Opens Up About Not Wanting Kids

Country music star Carly Pearce shared her thoughts on parenthood in a recent TikTok video. Responding to a fan’s inquiry about her plans for having children and possibly remarrying, Pearce clarified her stance.

Having been married to fellow musician Michael Ray for a year before they divorced in 2020, the 36-year-old Pearce expressed that while she loves kids—especially those of her friends—having children was never part of her personal dream. “I think some of you might feel the same way. I feel a bit guilty saying that I don’t really want kids,” she said.

Her focus has always been on her music career, rather than on starting a family. Pearce feels it’s important to normalize the idea that not everyone aspires to parenthood. “I really believe people shouldn’t feel pressured to have kids just because it’s what’s expected,” she said. “So, I don’t want kids, and honestly, that’s how I feel.”

Regarding marriage, she mentioned that she “absolutely” wants to marry again. Reflecting on her past, she emphasized that her previous experience won’t deter her from believing in love. “I had a brief marriage that didn’t work out, but now I’m looking toward a more meaningful commitment,” she concluded.

Pearce initially started dating Ray in 2018, sliding into his DMs, which led to a quick engagement in December of that year. They tied the knot in October 2019, but just under a year later, Pearce filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce was finalized in September 2020.

Since then, Pearce has entered several relationships, including her current one with entrepreneur Jordan Kercher. The couple is reportedly looking to make their relationship public on social media soon.
