Carnie Wilson chooses a balanced diet over Ozempic for her health.

Carney Wilson is not considering Ozempic as a weight loss option anytime soon. In a recent interview, she shared her perspective on weight loss medications, describing them as frightening. Wilson, who has already lost over 100 pounds thanks to gastric bypass and other surgeries, expressed concerns, specifically referencing a friend’s health scare related to such medications.

Rather than turning to pills, she prioritizes making healthy lifestyle choices. “It’s all about balance,” Wilson noted, acknowledging that it’s not always easy. While she tries to avoid sugar, she mentioned that even seemingly harmless options, like a granola bar, can impact her mood and energy levels.

Reflecting on her journey, Wilson highlighted her dramatic weight loss from 310 to 200 pounds after surgery and conveyed her happiness about her current health status. She said, “I’m not skinny, nor am I perfect, but I’m much healthier now.”

Wilson is also a vocal advocate for mental health awareness. She’s recently partnered with Ingrezza, focusing on tardive dyskinesia, a movement disorder tied to specific mental health medications. She opened up about her own mental health challenges, which began in childhood but became more evident in her teens. With mental health issues running in her family, including her famous father, Brian Wilson, she emphasized the importance of discussing these struggles, stating, “Every day is different. Some days are better, some are harder, and that’s okay.”

Through her initiative, “Connect with Kearney,” she aims to build a supportive community, encouraging others to connect and share their experiences. “Connection is vital,” she asserted, advocating for open conversations and mutual support in managing mental health.
