Congratulations are in order for Caroline Wozniacki and her husband, following the retirement of NBA player David Lee.
The 35-year-old Grand Slam champion announced on Saturday that she and Lee, who is 42, have welcomed their third child.
“Max Wozniacki was born on July 26, 2025! Both my mom and baby are healthy, and our family is so happy!” Wozniacki shared in a sweet Instagram post featuring their newborn son, cradled by their two older children, Olivia (4) and James (2).
Wozniacki and Lee first hinted at expanding their family back in April, with Wozniacki excitedly stating, “Switching to zone defense! We can’t wait to welcome Baby #3!”
The Danish tennis star revealed this joyful news just a few months after making it to the fourth round of the 2024 US Open.
Wozniacki, who competed in the finals in 2009 and 2014, lost to Beatrice Haddad Maia in Brazil last September.
After a three-year hiatus from the sport, Wozniacki made her return in 2023. Reflecting on her time away, she mentioned, “I felt like I accomplished everything I set out to do, so I decided to step back. I wanted to start a family but really needed that break.” She was uncertain about how long it would last.
Wozniacki’s retirement announcement in December 2019 caught many by surprise.
She and Lee tied the knot in June 2019, a few months after they got engaged during a vacation in Bora Bora. Wozniacki described the proposal as romantic, recalling a sunset cruise where Lee surprised her by getting down on one knee.
The couple’s relationship began after Wozniacki’s split from Rory McIlroy in 2015.
Lee, a first-round NBA draft pick in 2005, played 12 seasons in the league before retiring in 2017.
