Author E. Jean Carroll, who won a hefty $83.3 million judgment in a defamation lawsuit against former President Trump on Friday, said in an interview Monday that he will do whatever he can to stop Trump from taking back the White House. That’s what he said.
In an interview on “CBS Mornings” on Monday, Carroll said he had not heard anything from President Biden’s reelection team about participating in the campaign’s efforts against Trump, the front-runner for this year’s Republican presidential nomination. .
Asked if he was interested in supporting the Biden team, Carroll said, “I’ll do whatever I can.”
In an interview Monday, Carroll likened President Trump to the cautionary tale “The Emperor’s New Clothes,” in that he owes his power to his supporters.
“Then Andersen’s great fairy tale ‘The Emperor Has No Clothes’?” It’s written about Donald Trump. However, we are the ones who clothe him with all this power. he has nothing of himself. It’s his followers. That’s his thing,” Carroll said.
“In court, they were going back and forth, handing him messages,” she noted.
Trump was convicted last year of sexually abusing and defaming Carroll and was sentenced to $5 million. Friday’s ruling dealt only with defamation.
In a separate CNN interview on Monday, Carroll predicted that Trump would lose the next presidential election.
“Oh, please. That’s unthinkable. That’s unthinkable. I don’t think so — I don’t think that’s going to happen,” she said of Trump’s reelection prospects.
Trump faces four criminal indictments on a total of 91 felonies.
Despite legal issues, he appears likely to become the Republican presidential nominee. She won the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary, and leads former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley by 56.8 points, according to The Hill/Decision Desk’s national polling average.
