Carson Soucy makes splash with goal in his Rangers’ debut

OTTAWA, Ontario — Carson Sussy made his Rangers debut against the Senator Saturday afternoon.

Bluesshirt acquired Sawsie from Vancouver in exchange for the third round of 2025, which he received on a Riley Smith contract ahead of the trade deadline on Friday, and played New York in the fourth city for his 30-year-old career.

Replaced Calvin De Hahn in the lineup, Sussy lined up next to Zack Jones of the Rangers bottom pair, even notching his first goal/point with the organization with a 4-3 overtime loss.

“Not bad, unfortunately it's not a victory,” Sussy said from inside the visiting locker room at Canada Tire Centre. “I felt better as the game progressed. I think a few things will just take a little time to get used to. [with the] The system will be changed. But overall, the first game felt that pretty good. ”

Peter LaViolett said he liked the way other D-pairs, K'Andre Miller-Will Borgen and Urho Vaakanainen-Braden Schneider, played recently, so Rangers head coaches chose to leave them alone.

Jones could serve as a placeholder when Adam Fox is activated from the injured reserve.

“There were definitely multiple factors,” Sussy said he would come to New York with his no-trade clause waived. “Obviously, the team that wants you and wants to trade for you is a big part of that. Good [J.T.] mirror, [Will] Here is Borgen. We were pretty tight in Seattle. Obviously, he's just playing for the Rangers, in New York, and at Madison Square Garden. ”
