CC Sabathia Celebrates 46th Birthday with Son’s Major Milestone

Former Yankees pitcher and Hall of Famer CC Sabathia marked his 46th birthday in a way that many parents would find incredibly fulfilling: by witnessing his child achieve a dream. On Tuesday, his son, Carsten Sabathia III, was chosen by the Brewers in the 20th round of this year’s draft and signed his first professional baseball contract.

Sabathia, who had a 19-year career in Major League Baseball and was inducted into the Hall of Fame last summer, took to X to celebrate this special moment. He posted, “Best birthday ever! My son Karsten officially became a brewer!!!” sharing a photo of himself and his wife, Amber.

In the picture, Karsten was proudly wearing a Brewers jersey, with a team cap placed on the desk as he signed the contract. The young athlete played as an infielder at the University of Houston, where he had an impressive senior season, hitting .283 with six home runs and a .374 on-base percentage.

CC Sabathia’s career in the major leagues spanned three teams, including a stint with the Brewers during the 2008 season. He joined the team after being traded from Cleveland at the deadline and delivered a remarkable 11-2 record with a 1.65 ERA in 17 starts, leading the Brewers to the playoffs for the first time since 1982. Even with just half a season under his belt, he made a significant impact and was later honored with a spot on the franchise’s Wall of Honor.
