Cartel Pilots Drop Leaflets in Mexico Accusing Sinaloa Governor of Helping Rivals

Sinaloa Cartel pilots flew over several cities and distributed leaflets accusing Sinaloa Governor Ruben Rocha Moya and other officials of working to support Chapitos. The action comes amid months of intense turf wars that have left thousands dead or led to forced abductions.

Reports of the flights surfaced earlier this week when social media users began posting videos of a small Cessna plane distributing leaflets over Sinaloa provinces including Culiacan, Mazatlan and Los Mochis.

Previously dropped flyers listed leaders of the Chapitos faction of the Sinaloa cartel, their alleged allies and financiers. It also includes photos and names of Rocha Moya, whom they identify as their “godfather,” and other state and federal politicians. Chapitos refers to the Sinaloa cartel faction led by the sons of imprisoned kingpin Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán.

It remains unclear when the flight took place. But the Metos had dropped similar fliers in previous months. These pamphlets list numerous companies that are said to be fronts for the Chapitos faction. In these leaflets, the authors allege that Chapitos has committed extortion from the public, election fraud, and numerous other crimes against innocent civilians.

As Breitbart Texas reported, Ruben Rocha Moya lured Sinaloa cartel kingpin Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada to a meeting at his ranch, where members of Los Chapitos ambushed him. He is accused of cooperating with the establishment of the group, tying him up and imprisoning him. The plane flew him into the hands of waiting U.S. federal agents in Texas. Rocha Moya claims he was out of the country when the meeting took place and had nothing to do with it. This perceived betrayal led to a fierce turf war between the Chapitos and a faction led by El Mayo's son (Mytos).

In addition to large-scale gunfights and kidnappings, the cartel's gunmen set fire to several stores with patrons inside, carjacked innocent motorists, and committed several other acts that paralyzed the nation. Carrying out terrorist-style tactics.
