Carville: Democrats should ‘play possum’ for now: ‘This freight train is moving’

Democratic strategist James Kerrville argues that his party's political actor should “play a possum” now, as grassroots have pointed out that “freight trains are moving.” did.

Kerrville joined MSNBC's “The Beat” on Monday, with host Ari Melber asking to put pressure on the Trump administration and the national protests against Elon Musk's government efficiency (DOGE).

“This is happening all over the country. So the question is, how should Democrat politicians respond to this. And I think we should do it. We're in the US countryside. What you're calling, play a possum. Just let it go. Don't get in the way, or just like we want to say, don't just stand there, do nothing.” Carville said. “Let this sprout.”

Kerrville said Democrats have already demonstrated themselves and don't need to get to the Americans.

“This freight train is running,” he said. “Let's not get in the way. Then we have time.”

Kerrville summoned a quote from the 1989 film Roadhouse.

“And then it's coming soon,” he said.

Trump's opponents used President's Day to plan protests around the country. There were several indications in various cities that declared February 17 “King Day” and targeted Trump's enforcement and Musk as staff who were not cooperating with Doge.
