Carville says donors to RNC, Trump ‘begging to be stolen from’

Democratic strategist James Carville says the Republican National Committee (RNC) and people who donate money to former President Trump are ” It’s begging to be stolen.”

“These people want to be robbed,” Carville told MSNBC’s Jen Psaki. “The people who are giving money to Trump and the RNC are begging to be stolen, and Trump is going to respond to them. They’re very open and candid about what they’re doing.”

Trump, who remains the likely Republican nominee, recently named his daughter-in-law Lara Trump and North Carolina Republican Party Chairman Michael Whatley as possible co-chairs of the committee. The current chair, Ronna McDaniel, will resign on March 8 “to allow her nominees to choose the chair of their choice.”

Lara Trump said earlier this month that “every penny” raised by the RNC will go toward “the RNC’s No. 1 and only job: electing Donald J. Trump President of the United States and saving this country.” He said that he would be killed. ”

While campaigning for Trump ahead of the South Carolina primary, she said Republican voters will likely support paying the commission for his mounting legal problems.

“They feel this is an attack not just on Donald Trump, but on this country,” she said of the lawsuit. “Well, I think that’s a big concern for people, absolutely.”

But RNC members said it would be “totally misleading” for the committee to spend campaign funds on candidates’ legal fees and filed two draft resolutions to block the committee from doing so. .

Mr Carville insisted supporters could do whatever they wanted. “So if people want to give Trump money, give them more and more,” he said in an interview. Highlighted by Mediaite.

The strategist claimed he knew many Republicans from his time in Washington who believed President Trump was “siphoning” money from congressional candidates.

“You know something, they’re right,” he said. “Put Lara Trump on it. Steal everything you can get.”

Carville said the RNC’s spending on Trump’s lawsuit gives Democrats an opportunity to win. He said Democrats should “press and press now” in states like Michigan and Arizona, saying the Republican Party is “broken” and candidates are “underfunded.” Ta.
