Cathy’s Testimony Regarding Shaun “Diddy” Combs
Cathy recounted an incident from 2007 involving Shaun “Diddy” Combs. She mentioned feeling slighted after observing him flirt with someone at a restaurant, which seemed to provoke his anger when they got into the car.
“When we got into the car, he knocked me,” Cathy recalled. At that time, Combs was likely around 21 years old.
Inside the Escalade SUV, she noted that his security personnel and drivers were present during what she described as malicious assaults.
“He hit me on the side of my head. He knocked me on the floor of my car,” Cathy shared, expressing her shock and confusion about his aggression.
She also described another occasion while driving in Los Angeles, where she insulted him, calling him derogatory names. In response, she saw a change in his demeanor, saying, “his eyes turned black,” and then he began to aggressively stomp on her face.
Their ride lasted about ten minutes, during which she tried to shield herself from his attacks.
“I’ve never experienced anything like that when I was beaten so badly,” she told the jury.
After escaping, she ran down the street, but Combs’ security caught up with her.
Once inside Combs’ house, she looked in the mirror and was horrified by her appearance. “I didn’t look like myself at all. I was swollen, everything, it was horrifying,” she said.
Later, when Combs entered the room, Cathy admitted to being in distress, even “vomiting.” Combs and his team eventually let her leave the premises, but she was left at a London hotel for a week, during which they ensured she only met with her stylist.
Cathy expressed a desire to leave the hotel, but Combs insisted she remain and advised her to cover her face.
