Carys Zeta Douglas Honors Her Mother with Iconic Dress
Carys Zeta Douglas, the daughter of Catherine Zeta-Jones, made a stylish appearance on the red carpet, donning a vintage black dress with lace details. This particular dress carries a nostalgic significance; it’s the same one her mother wore at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame approximately 20 years ago.
She attended the PAC NYC’s Icons of Culture Gala alongside her father, Michael Douglas. Although Catherine was unable to join them due to work commitments, Carys’s choice of attire paid homage to her mother, who is known for her glamorous style.
Michael expressed a sense of pride, mentioning how delighted he was to have Carys by his side. He commented on how her presence was especially significant as he is on the board at PAC. Carys, who recently graduated from Brown University, paired her vintage piece with pointed black heels and chic ruby earrings.
Interestingly, Zeta-Jones originally styled the dress back in 2005 with fringed stilettos and a matching clutch. There’s even a bit of Hollywood trivia—actress Keira Knightley wore the same dress a year before the unveiling of “King Arthur”.
This isn’t the first instance of Carys pulling from her mother’s wardrobe. For her 21st birthday, she wore a pink and white floral Ungaro dress that Catherine had sported at the 1999 MTV Movie Awards. Carys has a penchant for vintage fashion, declaring her aversion to fast fashion due to sustainability concerns. Yet, she candidly admitted to occasionally borrowing “a little too much” from her mother, leading to humorous exchanges about whether certain items belong to her.
On the red carpet, Carys also shared insights on her future plans, emphasizing her background in theater. Despite earning a degree in film and international relations, she still harbors a passion for acting. The family, including her brother Dylan, who also graduated from Brown, continues to share a close bond.
Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, who tied the knot in 2000, are often noted for their solid partnership, having briefly separated in 2013 before reconciling the following year. Their family dynamic, particularly with Carys stepping into the spotlight, reflects a blend of nostalgia and new beginnings, as she navigates the world of entertainment.
