Bitcoin Price Adjustments and Analyst Insights

As November begins, Bitcoin (BTC) has settled after reaching a record high of $126,000 in October. Recently, it dipped below the $100,000 mark.

Some market experts interpret this drop as a healthy correction, following a significant rally earlier in the year.

Cathie Wood, CEO of Ark Investments, still holds a “very bullish” stance on Bitcoin, although she has adjusted her previous expectations.

Speaking on November 6, Wood explained her updated predictions on CNBC, attributing them to the rise of stablecoins. This trend led her to reconsider Bitcoin’s potential share in the global financial landscape.

According to Wood, stablecoins like Tether (USDT) and Circle’s USD Coin (USDC) have gained traction, particularly in emerging markets, capturing some of the growth that was once anticipated for Bitcoin.

“Stablecoins have become much more significant than we initially thought,” she noted, mentioning their increasing use for transactions and savings in areas with less developed financial systems.

As a result, Ark has lowered its bullish projection for Bitcoin in 2030 from $1.5 million to $1.2 million. Their latest scenarios predict Bitcoin reaching $1.2 million in a bullish case, $600,000 in a baseline scenario, and $500,000 in a bearish case.

Despite the revision, Wood insists that Bitcoin’s core fundamentals remain intact, highlighting ongoing institutional interest, regulatory clarity, and its scarcity-driven model as crucial long-term influences.

“Bitcoin remains the most secure and decentralized digital currency,” she stated.

Although the rise of stablecoins may have shifted some of Bitcoin’s utility, Wood believes the two can coexist in an evolving digital economy.

“Bitcoin will continue to be the backbone currency of the crypto world, even if stablecoins dominate the transaction side,” she argued.
