A representative from the New York City Police Department (NYPD) confirmed on Friday that the attack occurred near W 126 Street and Lennox Avenue around 6:05 PM on Thursday.

There have been no arrests yet, and the investigation is still active,” the representative stated.

Breitbart News attempted to contact Antao but did not receive a response before publication. However, Antao informed Catholic News Agency (CNA) that she has been a pro-life supporter for many years and frequently conducts street interviews for her YouTube channel and various groups.

She described the attacker as “very passionate” about her pro-abortion beliefs.

“She was aware of the implications of abortion. She fully acknowledged that the procedure ends a life. She understood how it all worked,” she remarked.

Live Action reported that the unnamed woman reportedly said during the interview, “You don’t grasp the significance of having a child.”

Craven Antao responded.

“I was caught off guard,” Antao shared with CNA.

Reports indicate Antao’s husband, Henry, intervened to shield her from additional assaults, at which point the woman fled. The couple alerted the police, but the suspect was not located. Antao subsequently went to the hospital for two stitches. She mentioned that she is raising funds for a security fund via her YouTube channel.

Henry Antao stated in a statement:

I was conducting street interviews with my wife, Savannah Craven Antao, in Harlem when she was attacked by a pro-abortion individual we were interviewing. The woman became aggressive and violent upon hearing Savannah’s pro-life views.

“I quickly intervened to protect my wife and dialed 911. The police came and took photos and descriptions of the attacker,” he added. “We hope justice prevails soon. We are pro-life advocates, because halting abortions and safeguarding babies from harm is our primary concern.”

Savannah Antao offered her compassion for her attacker, saying, “I realize that she is suffering inside…”

“That’s why I continue to pray for her and hope she can find peace within herself,” she expressed.

Lila Rose expressed her “deep gratitude” for Antao’s work with Live Action, noting that it “plays a vital role in protecting born children and in ending abortion across our nation.”

“Her bravery in facing violence is commendable,” Rose remarked. “We are thankful that she is safe and supported. No individual should endure physical violence for expressing their opinions publicly.”
