CatholicVote Launches Zeale, a Platform for Gen Z

CatholicVote has introduced a new platform named Zeale, designed specifically for young Americans. The aim is to engage them with faith, news, and the practice of prayer.

“CatholicVote’s mission is to support Catholics in expressing their faith publicly. Zeale serves as a means for believers to connect with God through news and various quality content, while helping to shape a constructive worldview, deepen faith, and foster community engagement,” said Kelsey Reinhardt, the president and CEO of CatholicVote.

Reinhardt mentioned, “Zeal connects with people on political and cultural issues, appealing to both their hearts and imaginations. Our goal is to motivate every American to embrace their truth through beauty and goodness.”

Interestingly, a report from June by Morning Consult pointed out that self-identification as liberal among Gen Z has dropped by 12 points since 2016.

CatholicVote highlighted research indicating that many in Gen Z are actively searching for spiritual connections. Despite being labeled as the “least religious generation,” recent data shows that young people are actually becoming more engaged with their faith. Specifically, research from the Barna Group indicates an uptick in church attendance among Gen Z and Millennial men.

The new app will include CatholicVote’s news initiative called The LOOP, along with podcasts and documentaries. Topics will cover a range of interests such as fashion, food, sports, travel, culture, and gaming. Additionally, it aims to create a “digital community of prayer.” This interactive feature sets Zeale apart from other similar platforms.

In the app, users will find daily Mass readings, opportunities to pray for one another, and the chance to share prayer intentions. It even allows for community engagement in response to urgent news that calls for collective prayer.

The organization stated that the app is free, funded through contributions from CatholicVote members and supporters.

For those interested, the app can be explored at zeal.co or downloaded via the App Store and Google Play.
