‘Catwoman’ Jocelyn Wildenstein’s partner shares socialite’s final moments, cause of death

Jocelyn Wildenstein, known as “Catwoman” for her numerous cosmetic surgeries, has died.

Wildenstein passed away “peacefully” while taking a nap on Tuesday, December 31, her longtime partner Lloyd Klein said. To the people.

Klein, a fashion designer, shared her memories of Wildenstein's last hours.

“That night, we had a nice happy hour and were preparing for the new year, and then I took a little nap to make sure I looked presentable before getting dressed,” he told the media.

Klein revealed that the Swiss socialite died of phlebitis, or thrombophlebitis. Phlebitis is a disease in which blood clots form and block one or more veins, often found in the legs. Mayo Clinic.

“Because of her phlebitis, her legs were very, very swollen and the blood was clogged and oxygen wasn't getting to her brain,” Klein said. “And we were taking a nap…then I [woke] I woke up and I said, “Jocelyn, you gotta get up, you gotta get dressed,'' and she was cold and dead. ”

“Very sad. Very sad,” he said. “It's so sad to lie down with your other half, whom you've known for 21 years…We're waiting to celebrate New Year's Eve and then find out she has a cold.”

Klein added that her partner's health had been “perfect” during the holidays leading up to New Year's Eve. Wildenstein's grandmother also suffered from phlebitis.

“We were at the Ritz two days ago and we were having dinner,” Klein said. “Before that, we were at Chanel Fashion Week. Everything was good, everything was good.”

“We were at the Ritz, partying. She was in great shape. Her health was perfect,” he added.

“Two months ago, she attended the Chanel show. Everyone invited us to dinner. Everyone welcomed her on the red carpet. Paparazzi followed us. “We were back in Paris. We were in great shape. Everything was in great shape,” he recalled.

Wildenstein's addiction to plastic surgery changed his facial features to resemble those of a cat, earning him the nickname Cat-like.

The Swiss socialite, born Jocelyn Perisset, first made headlines in the 1990s after her divorce from billionaire art collector Alec Wildenstein.

Shortly after her divorce from Alec, Wildenstein began dating Klein. They had been together for nearly 15 years before he proposed.

Meanwhile, her divorce from Wildenstein resulted in her receiving a $2.5 billion settlement, making her one of the richest people in the world.

In addition, Ms. Wildenstein was receiving payments of millions of dollars annually from her ex-husband.

But by 2018, her funds ran out and she filed for bankruptcy.

“I am not employed and my only income is Social Security,” Wildenstein wrote in an affidavit at the time. “I often rely on friends and family to pay for ongoing expenses.”

In the same year, she discredited cosmetic surgery for her features, claiming instead that her Swiss heritage gave her “high cheekbones and long hair.” When DailyMailTV asked her if she had undergone plastic surgery, she denied having undergone surgery.

Wildenstein was arrested in December 2016 on suspicion of attacking Klein with his fingernails. Meanwhile, charges against Klein were filed after Wildenstein allegedly shoved him during an argument at his Trump World Tower residence. Both charges were cleared.

She is survived by her daughter Diane and son Alec Jr.;
