Cause of death for Chicago woman Caitlin Tracey disclosed

Investigation into Chicago Woman’s Mysterious Death Continues

Medical examiners in Cook County, Illinois, have determined the cause of death for a Chicago woman who was discovered unconscious on the stairs of a high-rise apartment building in October 2024. However, the circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear.

Caitlyn Tracy, 36, died on October 27, 2024, due to “multiple injuries from falling from a height,” according to the coroner’s report. While her death was ruled accidental, no charges have been filed against anyone in connection with the incident, as first noted by a local news outlet.

Documents filed in court indicate that the condition of Tracy’s body suggested she fell approximately 24 stories, leading to severe injuries. Her family’s attorney described the aftermath, stating that her body was “shattered” and that, disturbingly, her legs had to be amputated.

Tracy’s husband, Adam Beckeling, 46, was arrested in March on a fugitive charge related to a warrant from Michigan. Importantly, however, he has not been charged regarding his wife’s death. His arrest adds another layer to an already turbulent background, as he has faced various legal issues in the past.

After Tracy’s death, police detained Beckeling for 48 hours but later released him. A subsequent legal conflict emerged between Tracy’s parents and her husband. Before their marriage, Tracy had filed a protection order against Beckeling in October 2023. They had a private wedding on April 8, 2024, which was not attended by their families.

In court documents, Tracy’s parents have expressed concerns about Beckeling, suggesting he “manipulated” her and isolated her from her family, which they believe contributed to ongoing domestic abuse. They are seeking the return of her remains for a proper funeral.

The judge ultimately sided with Tracy’s parents, permitting them to reclaim her body for burial. Following his arrest in March, Beckeling chose to waive the right to challenge extradition to face charges in Michigan, although the current status of his legal situation is unclear.

Tracy was serving as Chief Human Resources Officer at Nousot, a data analytics firm. The investigation continues as officials work to clarify the circumstances surrounding her tragic demise.
