CBS Sports announces Verne Lundquist’s Masters replacement on the 16th hole

With an emotional goodbye, the legendary Verne Lundquist said goodbye to Augusta National a year ago, marking his 40th Masters broadcast.

His two most famous calls live forever in Augusta's lore. In 1986, Lundquist made a statement, “Yes, sir!” When Jack Nicklaus took the lead There is a birdie putt on hole 17. 19 years later, in 2005, Lundquist said, “Have you ever seen something like that in your life?!” Of course, that question came quickly. Tiger Woods drilled a hole for birdie The moment when, in the most unlikely way, he became synonymous with both the forest and the illustrious career of Lundokist.

However, Lundquist no longer calls the action from the tower overlooking the 16th greenery.

Instead, Frank Nobilo.

Nobilo worked for CBS Sports in 2015. He replaced the great Peter Oostheruis who died. For the past few years, at Augusta National, Nobilo has called for action from the Amun Corner. There, a year ago, the tournament was decided to more or less. Ludvig Aberg found a pond on the left of the green, and Max Homa made a double bogey on the famous Par-3 12, taking the lead in Scottie Scheffler's second nine. Schaeffler eventually cruised to the second Masters victory. Nobilo was there directly and provided excellent analysis of how it unfolded.

He received great praise from a colleague on CBS during a master preview call with the media on Tuesday.

Before my time at CBS, Nobilo was a golf channel fixture, mainly working in the studio before calling live golf. He has also become a fixture for the Golf Channel's Live From Set. This currently features Brandel Chamblee and Paul McGinley as analysts and Rich Lerner as hosts.

Nobilo, who originally and lives in Auckland, New Zealand, reached his peak of play in the 1990s when he recorded solid finishes in all four major championships. He even finished fourth in the 1996 Masters. This is universally known for the third Masters victory in ascending order of Greg Norman's end mise and Nick Faldo's Sunday.

Nobilo knows everything about the enormous pressure players are feeling on Sunday's 29th, making it the perfect alternative to the famous 16th Landquist.
