CC Sabathia’s Take on Clint Frazier’s Absence
It seems that if CC Sabathia is handling the task of giving out tickets for Game 3 of the ALDS, he’s not planning to include his former Yankees teammate, Clint Frazier, in this deal.
Brought up on social media, Frazier quipped about possibly joining a well-known group of Yankees fans for a match, to which Sabathia replied with a simple clown emoji. The situation is a bit amusing, I suppose, given their shared history.
Frazier, who was with the Yankees for the first five seasons of his career, has continued to share his thoughts on the team since signing with the Cubs as a free agent four years ago. He’s not shy about voicing his opinions; he even mentioned that he didn’t think the Yankees had a shot at winning the World Series back in August. Additionally, he took issue with the team’s decision to bench Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Ben Rice in the first game of the Wild Card Series.
There’s also been some back-and-forth on Twitter. After a user expressed their satisfaction about Frazier no longer being with the Yankees, he simply responded with a phrase indicating he felt the same way.
Sabathia, recalling how he felt about Frazier’s departure from the Yankees, expressed his frustration with the continual coverage around the topic. He was quite animated, suggesting that if he stumbled upon another story about Frazier’s exit, he might just “punch someone in the face.” His emotions were clear: “It’s ridiculous. The kid barely played in the big leagues. We need to stop with these silly stories,” he said.
The two players did overlap during Frazier’s last three seasons with the Yankees, which likely adds a layer of complexity to their interactions and opinions.
Next week, the Yankees will be facing the Blue Jays, and it could be crucial for them. After suffering a tough loss in the first game of the ALDS, they’ll need to regroup and fight their way back.
In that game, Lewis Gill pitched for three innings and allowed a couple of solo home runs. However, the Yankees did have a chance in the sixth inning with the bases loaded and no outs, managing to score just one run.
