Cedric Alexander keeps his TNA X Division title in the Ultimate X match at Slammiversary

Alexander Retains X Division Title at Slammiversary

Cedric Alexander defended his Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) X Division Championship for the first time on Sunday night during Slammiversary. He faced the challenge of an Ultimate X match, which is definitely not an easy task.

This event marked the 55th Ultimate X match, and interestingly, it was Red’s return to the TNA ring after around 15 years. To come out on top, a competitor needed to climb one of the posts, navigate a high cable strung above the ring, and grab the title belt.

In the match, Alexander, Kazarian, Redd, and Aichner all surged for the title simultaneously. Alexander managed to take Aichner down while both Red and Kazarian tumbled to the mat. This opened an opportunity for Red and Kazarian to exhibit all their skills. Elegance saw a chance amidst the chaos but found his efforts thwarted by Navarro.

Red entered the ring and executed a Code Red on Navarro, followed by another on Kazarian. He made a bid for the title, but Slater intercepted him.

Slater regained his momentum after realizing his path to victory was blocked. He landed some impressive hits on Eichner, Elegance, Kazarian, and Navarro. Just when it seemed like he was making a serious challenge for the title, he unhooked the belt and hung from it, suspended above Red.

But then, in a swift move, Alexander darted into the ring and snatched the belt right out of Slater’s grasp. Neither Slater nor Red had touched the ground, prompting the decision that Alexander was the winner.

Earlier in the night, Alexander had captured the X Division Championship from Slater, effectively ending Slater’s quest for history. For now, it seems Alexander will hold on to that title for a while longer.
