The Giants are gearing up to face off against the Cowboys, and it seems like CeeDee Lamb has some unfinished business. Last week, there was a pivotal drop that might have changed the game, and Lamb is looking for revenge.
Lamb hinted at having a little something planned for Delu Phillips, the Giants’ cornerback, after Phillips previously claimed that he had injured Lamb in their last season’s matchup. “He worked on me and hurt me, so I have something for him,” Lamb said on Thursday, sounding pretty determined.
During the Cowboys’ victory over the Giants last Thanksgiving, Lamb was nursing an injury, which traced back to a shoulder issue he sustained against the Falcons in Week 9. Sadly, that injury sidelined him for the rest of the season after Week 16.
After the Cowboys’ win against the Buccaneers, he downplayed any concerns about his shoulders. “I’m just fighting and doing what I have to do,” he admitted.
This Sunday marks their first match since that holiday showdown, and Lamb seems eager as ever; he really feels there’s something left to settle with the Giants’ second-year defensive back.
Reflecting on the previous season, Lamb carries a bit of a chip on his shoulder, especially after a missed opportunity in Week 1 that led to a narrow loss against the Eagles. “As a team, we had to play right in the end,” Lamb remarked. “We play together, we make plays of everyday life… I’m talking for myself, and obviously I’ve deleted it a few times.”
As the Cowboys head into this game, they are a 4.5-point favorite. Both the Cowboys and Giants are trying to avoid the sting of starting their seasons with back-to-back losses in the division.
