CeeDee Lamb won’t take questions about contract at youth football camp

There’s still no word on one of the NFL’s ongoing contract disputes.

Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb responded to a tweet on Tuesday sharing information about his youth football camp and quickly denied claims that he wasn’t planning on saying anything about his expiring rookie contract.

“If that’s your question, I’m not talking about contract negotiations…” Lamb I wrote to X“The answer is zero. We’re talking about children.”

Lamb’s recent activities at the X also included a tiff with former Cowboys receiver Cole Beasley.

On July 4, Beasley wrote, “Just do heavy squats and power cleans” in response to a training video of current star Lamb.

Beasley then responded to a fan questioning the 35-year-old Rams, implying that the Rams’ performance isn’t as stellar as it seems.

“180 targets from the couch equals over 1,000,” Beasley wrote. “Stop looking at the stats and check out the video.”

But Ram didn’t accept it.

“You don’t need a 180 target to touch the band,” Lamb fired back on July 5. “I’ll pull the tape and put you on every route that opens up. Just chill.”

Having been away from social media platforms as well as the football field since the offseason began, Lamb’s recent tweets seem hectic given his relative inactivity.

The Dallas Morning News recently reported that Rams players who did not participate in Dallas’ mandatory minicamp could miss training camp unless they are properly compensated.

The 25-year-old Lamb had impressive season averages of 98.75 catches for 1,286 yards and eight touchdowns during his four seasons with the Cowboys.

Since entering the NFL in 2020, few cornerbacks have been able to compete with Lamb. AP

In fact, of the five receivers who recorded more than 1,400 yards last year, Lamb was one of two who wasn’t paid more than $30 million per year, the other being second-year standout Puka Nacua.

Until Cowboys owner/GM Jerry Jones shells out the money to pay the nearly unstoppable Lamb (likely at least $32 million per year), the spat doesn’t look likely to be resolved anytime soon, leaving open the possibility of a lengthy regular-season holdout or even a trade.
