Celeb-filled NYC condo building offering parking spots for $500K

Wealthy people who live at 150 Charles Street, including celebrities Ben Stiller, Jon Bon Jovi, and Irina Shayk, don't have to go far to drive. Developer Alex Witkoff is offering condo owners in a 15-story luxury tower the chance to buy underground parking for just $500,000 a car.

Another Manhattan building, 42 Crosby Street, made headlines a decade ago for its $1 million parking spaces, but it only has 10 spaces. 150 Charles has 92 spaces and was previously available for rental.

A spokesperson says they are moving quickly. For owners who spent up to $35 million on a penthouse, a half-mill tub might not be such a big deal.

Witkoff said, “There is a huge lack of parking in the West Village, many places are short on garages, and many buildings are converting their garages into condos, so it's only going to get worse over time. Probably.'' We offer savvy buyers a rare opportunity to own a parking garage in a prime West Village location. ”

The underground garage, along with the rest of the building, was completed in 2015, and all 91 units have been sold.

stuck in the chrysler building

The Post's Taylor Herzlich first reported Friday that Cooper Union terminated the Chrysler Building's land lease with Abby Rosen and Michael Fuchs' company RFR over alleged nonpayment of $21 million in rent. It became a partner in Austria last November, which was shocking but not surprising after the collapse of Rosens.

Rosen Benko and Rene Benko were attempting to restructure the land lease agreement with the landowner. (Rosen's RFR challenges termination.)

Cooper Union has appointed Cushman & Wakefield to manage the tower for the time being. However, we hear that the school is also receiving advice from an external team of experts led by Savills.

With more than half of this landmark's 1.25 million square feet of office space available, we need all the help we can get.
