Celebrating President Trump's Birthday: His Impact on America's Greatness

Celebrating Donald Trump’s 80th Birthday

On June 14, 2026, we take a moment to reflect on the life and achievements of a former president who has undeniably made a mark on American history.

Donald John Trump was born on June 14, 1946, in Queens, New York, to Fred Trump, a real estate developer, and Mary Anne MacLeod, a Scottish immigrant. He is the fourth of five children in the family.

Trump’s education began at the Kew-Forest School, where he attended from kindergarten until seventh grade. At 13, he transferred to the New York Military Academy. Later, he went to Fordham University in New York City before transferring to the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a degree in economics in 1968.

After college, he joined his father’s company, originally called E. Trump & Son, which later became the Trump Organization. The company developed and sold numerous properties in Queens and Brooklyn, but Trump truly gained recognition when he entered the Manhattan real estate scene in 1978.

In 1980, he made headlines by acquiring the rights to develop Trump Tower, where he lived until 2019. By 2025, his organization boasted over 30 properties in the U.S. and at least 16 golf courses worldwide.

Trump’s first marriage was to Ivana Trump in 1977. They had three children: Donald Jr., born December 31, 1977; Ivanka, born October 30, 1981; and Eric, born January 6, 1984. Their divorce occurred in 1990, and he married Marla Maples in 1993, with whom he had Tiffany Trump, born October 13, 1993. That marriage lasted until 1999. In 2005, Trump married Melania Trump, and they have a son, Barron, born March 20, 2006.

Trump now has eleven grandchildren. Donald Jr. has five kids, Ivanka has three, and Eric has two. Tiffany welcomed her first child, Alexander Trump Boulos, on May 15, 2025.

His children, especially the oldest three, were frequently featured on his successful reality show, “The Apprentice,” which began airing in 2004. The program focused on business skills, and the winner received a contract to work with Trump. It was hugely popular and later spawned “The Celebrity Apprentice,” which introduced his well-known catchphrase: “You’re fired.”

Trump made appearances in various media, including a memorable role in “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.” He often joked about running for president, having hinted at it during an appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in 1988, though he seemed uncertain at the time.

Then, on June 16, 2015, Trump made his presidential ambitions official with a speech from Trump Tower. His focus on economic policies and strict immigration laws resonated with many. A year later, he emerged as the leading candidate in the Republican primaries and ultimately won the presidency against Hillary Clinton in 2016, despite predictions favoring Clinton.

Trump took the oath of office on January 20, 2017, making promises to prioritize American workers and families while advocating for strong national protection. His administration witnessed job growth, a drop in unemployment rates, and significant economic improvements, especially for minority communities.

Throughout his presidency, he was committed to his vision of making America great again, and he continued to face challenges, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and a closely contested re-election against Joe Biden in 2020, which Trump lost amid claims of election fraud.

After the tumultuous events surrounding the Capitol on January 6, 2021, which led to his impeachment, he announced his intention to return to presidential politics in 2024. Amid ongoing controversies, including two assassination attempts during his campaign, Trump remained a significant figure in American politics.

The 2024 election saw him reclaim the presidency with a historic vote count, marking a remarkable comeback in American political history.

As we celebrate Trump’s 80th birthday today, it’s clear that his life has been anything but ordinary, filled with ups and downs, and continued public interest.

Here’s wishing Donald J. Trump a happy birthday!
