Censorship Happy: Google Blacklists PragerU App for ‘Misleading Claims’

Google has removed PragerU's app from the Google Play Store for Android devices for violating the major technology platform's “misleading claims” policy. After the education group announced the latest in a long series of censorship moves against Google, the internet giant rescinded its blacklisting without explanation.

On Friday, the Google Play Store emailed PragerU and said the app did not comply with “Google Play Policies.”

“After a recent investigation, we found that your app PragerU is not compliant with one or more developer program policies. For more information about your app's status and how to fix the issue, see below. ” Google writes on PragerU.

According to Google, the problem is that PragerU is suspected of violating Google's “Misleading Claims Policy.”

An email to PragerU says:

The app contains content that does not comply with our misleading claims policy. We have adopted this policy to promote and create a safe experience for our users. That's why apps that provide government-related information, whether affiliated with the government or not, must strictly adhere to our Misleading Statements Policy.

The app doesn't provide a clear source of government information, or the app description doesn't have a clear disclaimer that the app doesn't represent any government agency.

PragerU noted that it had been censored by Google and that its app was only restored on the platform after a massive outcry from its supporters and many media outlets. Breitbart News previously reported in June that Google blacklisted PragerU's actions as “hate speech,” an absurd claim. The tech giant rescinded the ban on the same day the Breitbart article was published.

Craig Strazzeri, PragerU's chief marketing officer, told Breitbart News that PragerU will continue to fight censorship in big tech. “Unfortunately, we are not surprised that Google has removed the PragerU app from the Play Store again. The fact that Google continues to target us shows how effective our videos are. It's clear they don't want people to see PragerU's content, but we won't be silent and will continue to fight back.”

Strazzeri added: “If you want to send a message to Google that you oppose this, please consider making a tax-deductible donation. PragerU.com To become even more independent from big tech. ”
