Interior Secretary Doug Burgham said he “certainly” believes there is room for President Donald Trump on Mount Rushmore.
Burgum spoke Trump's daughter, Fox News host Lara Trump, and Trump have signed an executive order that gave the Home Office secretary the authority to determine whether a memorial, monument or statue removed during President Joe Biden's administration “falsely” reads American history.
Lara Trump asked Burgham. “The Department of Interior is in charge of the National Park Service. The National Park Service is in charge of Mount Rushmore. Can many people see President Trump's face on Mount Rushmore?”
“Well, they certainly have room there,” Burgham said.

He added that fireworks and other celebrations will be held around July 4th, both Mount Rushmore and across the country to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the country's founding in 2026.
It's not the first time that the idea of placing President Trump along with former President Rushmore has been introduced.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) introduced legislation to add Trump to Mount Rushmore after starting her second term.
This is not the only way Republicans have tried to honor the 47th president.
Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) proposed a bill in February to establish Trump's birthday and flag day, or June 14th, as a public holiday.
She said:
No modern president is as vital to our country as Donald J. Trump. As both our 45th and 47th presidents, he is the most consequential president in modern American history and leads our nation in times of great international and domestic turmoil. From mediating the historic Abraham agreement to defending the largest tax-cut package in American history, his impact on the country cannot be denied. The bill will be added, as George Washington's birthday is codified as a federal holiday. Trump's birthday is on this list, and he recognizes him as the founder of America's golden age. Furthermore, as our country prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary, we need to create a new federal holiday that honors the American flag and everything it represents.
“By designating Trump's birthday and flag day as a federal holiday, we can ensure that President Trump's contribution to America's greatness and the importance of the American flag is forever enshrined in the law.” Tenny has been added.
