The email from the University of Missouri Prime Minister to alumni appeared to suggest that the school simply “evolves” its strategy to change “terms” for diversity, equity and inclusion policies and continue its efforts.
Blaze Media has obtained a copy of the email sent by Mohammad Dehghani, Prime Minister of the University of Missouri University of Science and Technology. Dehghani appeared to describe the “strategy” that universities use to continue DEI despite federal and state bans on DEIs.
“We will change some terminology and approaches, but we will not revive our commitment.”
“How will Day's retirement help us efficiently deliver our mission and achieve our vision while adhering to the most sacred values of teamwork, personal respect and merit-based equity?” Dehani asked rhetorically.
“Well, we're all because all our research shows that teams with diverse skas (skills, knowledge, abilities) perform better and produce better results. Is there another reason? He added.
President Donald Trump has issued an executive order directing government departments and agencies to end “discriminatory” DEI policies. Republican Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe too signature An order prohibiting such policies in state agencies.
“Does the form follow the function?” continued Dehghani. “If that's the case, we're working according to DEI laws and hopefully it's shape now and then, and we hope that it will continue to take shape. This means we're committed to people who are credited, keeping them hired fairly fairly, providing tools, training, career-enhancing experiences and comprehensively engaged.”
He gave an example of someone who takes five years to win a 3.3 GPA without support.
“We will change some terminology and approaches to ensure compliance, but we do not reject our commitment to ensuring that the university will remain a choice destination for faculty, staff and students from a wide variety of backgrounds,” he added.
He went on to argue that not only will the university be “retiring Day's terminology,” but “looking beyond all status QUOs and evolving our strategy to ensure the desired outcome.”
