Chargers fans unhappy about Chiefs logo displayed in end zone at Brazil game

Chargers fans unhappy about Chiefs logo displayed in end zone at Brazil game

AFC West Showdown in Brazil

The Kansas City Chiefs faced off against the Los Angeles Chargers in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Friday night. For many, this matchup promised excitement, but some Chargers fans expressed their frustrations about the field conditions at Neo Quimica Arena.

Despite being in a neutral location, the game was considered a home game for the Chargers, evidenced by the Chiefs’ logo appearing in one of the end zones. It seems that some fans weren’t too pleased about this setup—especially after last year’s international match, where the end zone featured only the Eagles’ name and colors. Host of “Up & Adams Show,” Kay Adams, shared a photo of the field, stirring up complaints from Chargers supporters who spotted their rivals’ branding.

One user’s reaction on social media was, “It’s ridiculous that the Chiefs have an end zone for a game that’s supposed to be for the Chargers.” Another fan chimed in with, “Has the NFL forgotten that the Chargers are the home team? What’s with the Chiefs’ end zone?”

While some fans reacted strongly, others recognized that these international games often come with adjustments and changes. Moving forward, NFL protocols will ensure both teams’ logos are represented in each end zone during the seven international contests scheduled for 2025. NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy stated that it’s a fun way to enhance the atmosphere and give these matches a unique feel.

Looking ahead, the next international game will feature the Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers in Dublin, with additional matches planned in London, Germany, and Spain in the following weeks. Each game will highlight both teams, striving for a good balance, even if it doesn’t always feel perfectly fair to the fans.

Of note, the Chargers find themselves in a tricky position since SoFi Stadium won’t host regular-season games during this stretch. The two teams are set to meet again on December 14th in Kansas City.
