Chargers Coach Jim Harbaugh Making His Mark
Jim Harbaugh, head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, has already impressed his players in his second season with the team. Kicker Cameron Dicker had positive things to say about the way Harbaugh connects with everyone.
“It’s fun. It’s like he loves you as if you were his own kid,” Dicker commented recently. “But sometimes, you just don’t know exactly what he’s going for.”
In his inaugural season, the Chargers ended with an 11-6 record, making it to the playoffs but ultimately falling short, losing 32-12 in the AFC wildcard round to the Houston Texans. Dicker believes building camaraderie will help the team break through this year. “We really need to enjoy this together,” he mentioned, appreciating how Harbaugh fosters that team spirit.
“I feel like it’s coming together,” Dicker shared. “When you can have fun with the team, it really changes the dynamic. That’s what Jim Harbaugh brings—he unites everyone. Honestly, he’s a bit quirky, but in a good way.” His charisma seems to encourage players to be their authentic selves.
Last season, Dicker excelled, making 33 of 36 extra points and converting 39 of 42 field goals. Now, things are shifting a bit. Dicker typically does most of his kicking at SoFi Stadium, but excitement is brewing as the stadium is set to host matches for next year’s World Cup. Dicker noted, “It’s amazing, really. Bringing in fans from all over adds a whole new level of energy.”
