Chargers’ Keenan Allen’s Touchdown Ball Creates Stand Drama

Some unexpected drama took place in the Sophie Stadium stands on Sunday when fans caught a touchdown ball intended for Chargers receiver Keenan Allen’s wife, Chandra, during their 23-20 victory over the Broncos.

Allen scored the game-winning touchdown with just 2:44 remaining. After that, he threw a sort of signal to a man in a white t-shirt, who was seated in the front row near the end zone with his child, pointing to Chandra, who was holding a face cutout.

The Chargers later shared a clip of Allen’s crucial score, which tied the game at 20. Fans held the ball in a way that made it appear as if Siandra was right there with them.

On Instagram Stories, Chandra shared that the fans seemed genuinely sorry and went out of their way to make sure the ball was safe with her.

In a playful tone, she mentioned, “No, he didn’t take football from me!” along with a video of her son basking in the moment with the ball on the Jumbotron. “He came twice and apologized. We’re going to have it safe ha ha.”

Another post showed her proudly with the ball, captioned “Big W.”

Earlier in the game, Allen hadn’t connected with Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert much, but he rose to the occasion when it mattered. This win, sealed by Cameron Dicker’s 43-yard field goal, marked the Chargers’ first 3-0 start since 2002.

Herbert finished the game with 300 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, going 47-28. Next, the Chargers will face the Giants, who are currently 0-3, at MetLife Stadium next Sunday.
