Charlamagne Tha God Questions Karine Jean-Pierre’s Credibility
Charlamagne Tha God expressed skepticism about Karine Jean-Pierre’s credibility during his radio show on Thursday, despite showing interest in her new book. Jean-Pierre, the former White House press secretary, announced she is now registered as an independent and is set to release a book titled *Independence: Looking Inside the Broken White House Outside the Party*.
In her statement, Jean-Pierre said, “Until January 20th, I was responsible for speaking on behalf of the President of the United States. At noon that day, I became a civilian citizen, like all Americans, who faced the uncertainties ahead.” She emphasized the need to confront the dangers the country faces.
While Charlamagne acknowledged the difficulties of both political parties during his show, he offered a mix of praise and mild criticism of Jean-Pierre’s recent actions.
He noted that her independence is commendable, especially for Black individuals who may feel disconnected from party loyalty. “You should vote for your interests only,” he argued. “Politicians need to focus on legislation that benefits our communities.” Yet, he still deemed Jean-Pierre’s reputation as critically questionable.
“I might read the book, but I don’t want to hear anyone lying for the Biden administration,” he remarked, hinting that such statements may be coming too late and that he finds her sentiments a bit lacking.
Charlamagne added, “Many of these individuals are having their ‘coming to Jesus’ moments far too late. They should have voiced these concerns years ago.” He referenced a quote from Jean-Pierre’s press release about the need for creative and strategic thinking, suggesting that blind loyalty among Democratic supporters, particularly Black voters, is problematic.
When pressed by his co-host about whether he was referring to Biden specifically or just the administration in general, Charlamagne maintained that such loyalty would ultimately betray the American people.
