Charlamagne the God Praises Rep. Jasmine Crockett
Radio host Charlamagne the God has suggested that the Democratic Party should fully support Representative Jasmine Crockett from Texas, referring to her as a “phenomenal messenger” for the party.
On a recent episode of “The Breakfast Club,” he and his co-hosts discussed Crockett following criticism from fellow radio host Stephen A. Smith. Smith had taken issue with her focus on certain political positions, but Charlamagne voiced his strong disagreement, pointing out that former President Donald Trump often lacks the rhetorical nuance needed for political discourse. He believes Democrats, like Crockett, are crucial in countering Trump’s messaging.
Charlamagne proclaimed, “Jasmine Crockett is the person the Democratic Party should rely on,” noting her unique ability to connect with various audiences. He remarked on her bold approach, where she has labeled Trump and his administration as “racist,” asserting that this directly addresses critical issues facing marginalized communities.
He continued, “I think we need someone like Jasmine Crockett. She’s the most effective messenger the Democratic Party has right now. They should use her strategically.” At the same time, he expressed frustration over how Democrats treat her compared to Republicans, who seem more openly critical of her. There seems to be a disconnect where Republicans discuss Crockett publicly while Democrats do so privately.
Despite his pointed critiques of the Democratic establishment, particularly regarding recent governmental issues, Charlamagne has also shown support for certain Democratic figures, including New York Mayor-elect Zoran Mamdani.
He commended Mamdani for emphasizing basic needs that resonate with many voters, like financial stability and personal safety. “I think those are the core issues that matter,” he said, though he remained somewhat uncertain if Mamdani would be able to deliver on these promises once in office. He concluded that effective campaigning could lead to electoral success, echoing sentiments mirrored in previous successful campaigns.
