Charlamagne tha God says he gets blowback from WH when criticizing Biden: ‘The stupidest s— ever’

Radio host Charlamagne the God revealed on Sunday that he could hear a backlash from the White House if he publicly criticized President Biden, calling him the “stupidest president in history.”

Speaking with ABC’s “This Week” co-anchor Jonathan Karl on Sunday, the “Breakfast Club” radio personality called Biden an “unappealing candidate” and said he’s against Vice President Harris for the commander-in-chief. urged them to rely more on He became more charismatic. ”

“Well, he’s just an uninspiring candidate. There’s nothing about Joe Biden that makes you want to listen to him,” he said, later adding. “He should rely on people who are more inspiring than him, people who are more charismatic than he is. And if you want to call it the brains of the behind-the-scenes operations, he’s just It should be. It seems strange to say that about the President of the United States, but… he just doesn’t have the energy of a main character. None.”

Asked if his opinion had anything to do with the president’s age, Charlamagne said, “I don’t think it has anything to do with age…I just think it has to do with him.” he said. Like Donald Trump, what? Four or three years younger than President Biden? But he has become more youthful. He’s getting his energy back…it’s like he has more energy. ”

Mr. Biden is 81 years old, four years older than former President Trump, who is 77 years old. His incumbent has faced repeated criticism because of his age, leading to doubts about his ability to carry out his second term. Those concerns came to the fore earlier this month amid the release of the special counsel’s report on Mr. Biden, which included a scathing assessment of Mr. Biden’s memory.

Asked if he would face backlash from the White House for publicly expressing his feelings about Biden, Charlamagne said: And I think that’s the stupidest thing ever, because I think…I think you should be able to criticize whoever your elected officials are, right? ”

“And even I’m criticizing them, but I’m criticizing them because I see what’s going to happen in November. You see what we’re facing. So what I would say to them is, where is the sense of crisis?” he continued. “You can’t keep saying there’s a threat to democracy, and you can’t continue to say there’s a threat to democracy and not act when you know that democracy will eventually disappear.”

The Hill has reached out to the White House for comment.

Charlamagne, who rarely appears on Sunday morning political shows, spoke just months after calling on Biden to withdraw from the presidential race, pointing to Biden’s low polling numbers.

Charlamagne further dug into the narrative surrounding the Republican candidate, claiming that the Republican presidential candidate has been “demonized” in every election by the Democratic Party.

“They’re going to demonize the Republican candidates. And now that we have an actual legitimate threat in front of us, they’re like the party crying wolf. Nobody’s going to believe that. ” he said.

At the beginning of the interview, Kahl pointed out that Charlamagne supported Biden in 2020, largely because Harris was his running mate.

Charlamange said Harris has not lived up to expectations, but noted there is still time to change course.

“At this point, I think historically the vice president has always played some type of role,” he said. Their role is basically to parrot the president, to speak on his behalf. But I think we’re in a new, new era, right? The problem with the new jack is similar. I need a new jack solution. And she serves a unique purpose, right? ”

“Because she’s the first woman of color to hold that job. So those are things she can talk about. There are things she could say that I don’t think he could say.” I feel like that,” he continued.

He pointed to her work in the Senate hearing and quipped that he would like to see her “make a case” against Trump.

Charlamagne said he was likely referring to Trump, noting that “these people are a threat to democracy and this person is a threat to democracy,” but said he doesn’t support anyone. insisted.

“It sounds like you’re endorsing. I mean, it sounds like you’re saying support, not Donald Trump, but like you said, it’s going to be Biden,” Karl said. Ta.

Charlamange replied: “Well, I don’t think that’s an endorsement. You know, I’m just telling people what’s going on out there. Because I’m also going to tell the truth about the Democratic Party. Because , because I feel like if you lie to people about the Democratic Party, they won’t believe you when you tell them. They’re the truth about the Republican Party.”
