Charlamagne Tha God revealed how she really feels about DEI programs. And it wasn’t what anyone expected.
“The truth about DEI is that while it’s well-intentioned, it’s mostly garbage. It’s like the little black mermaid. Just because racists hate it doesn’t mean it’s good.” That’s not true,” Charlamagne said while guest-hosting on “The Daily Show.”
“You know I’m right, because we’ve all been in a diversity training session and thought, ‘This is one hell of a person,'” he continued.
Charlamagne also complained that DEI programs don’t actually “improve the workplace for minorities,” and said, “DEI training is like DARE for racism.”
“You all know how effective that was. I was sitting there thinking, ‘Oh, there’s so many interesting drugs to try, I didn’t even know about Molly, thank you officer.’ ” he told the audience.
Dave Rubin was impressed, but said, “I want to stress again that I’m just reading the script.”
“These are not ideas coming out of his head. I don’t know if they gave that exact script to Jon Stewart because they believe in this new racism,” Rubin says.
Charlamagne likely read the script, but Alex Stein is glad it’s being read.
“He makes a good point that when you talk about everything about race and gender, it’s inherently racist,” Stein told Rubin.
