Charlie Kirk has received a warm reception from a spokesperson of Turning Point USA, who mentioned that he is quite fond of being featured in South Park. The spokesperson, Andrew Corvette, noted this feeling in a social media post, saying Kirk often talked about how much he appreciated the appearance.
Corvette pointed to the episode titled “Got a Nut,” which aired last month. In it, a discussion event reminiscent of Kirk’s style is depicted on a university campus, featuring a character that represents the founder of Turning Point USA.
Kirk expressed his enthusiasm regarding the episode, calling it a “winner” and even changing his profile picture online to an image of Cartman at a table with a microphone.
He also praised the newly announced “Charlie Kirk Award” that was mentioned in the show.
“The episode just came out, and honestly, it’s hilarious,” Kirk remarked in a video from August.
Kirk then emphasized the importance of maintaining a light-hearted attitude about such teasing, stating that it reflects success and victory for the movement.
He hopes that in the future, people will embrace being ‘master debaters of truth,’ noting the playful usage of “master debater” in episodes that conservatives can appreciate.
Kirk also shared clips from the episode on his social media, inviting others to check them out.
However, after a similar campus event where Kirk addressed students at Utah Valley University, Comedy Central later removed the episode from its regular lineup.
When the teaser for the episode was released in July, Kirk shared his initial thoughts. He found it a little strange, suggesting that it highlighted the cultural influence their movement has achieved.
“I see this as a badge of honor,” Kirk mentioned. “We as conservatives should be able to laugh about it and not take ourselves too seriously, unlike the left, which often results in harm to our cause.”
“They’re comedians, after all,” he added, recognizing that humor plays a significant role in public life. “If they choose to poke fun at me, I think that’s completely fine.”
