Charlie Kirk’s Funeral and Friends’ Reflections

The family of Charlie Kirk is set to fly to Salt Lake City, Utah, on September 11, to visit his family and close friends. Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was tragically shot while speaking at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.

Reports indicate that Kirk’s case will be returned to Air Force 2 that same night, heading to Phoenix, Arizona, where Turning Point USA is based. Friends and supporters gathered at the headquarters on Wednesday night, staying up to honor his memory.

Vice President JD Vance shared his reflections on social media, remembering Kirk as a man of courage, faith, and unwavering loyalty. Their friendship spanned from their initial skepticism regarding Donald Trump in 2016 to supporting each other during the 2024 campaign trail.

Vance’s heartfelt post highlighted Kirk’s significant role not just in the conservative movement but also in shaping the Trump Vance dynamic. “Charlie was one of the first to reach out when I considered running for the Senate in early 2021,” Vance noted. “We strategized on everything from fundraising to grassroots engagement. He even introduced me to some key figures in my campaign and Donald Trump Jr.” Kirk had long been an advocate for youth in the conservative landscape and was considered essential in Trump’s decision-making regarding his running mate choice.
