A corn maze at Goebel Farms in Indiana, dedicated to the late Charlie Kirk, has sparked a significant backlash from the community, compelling the farm to issue a statement defending its choice.
The farm, located in Evansville, stated that it chose to honor Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, due to his dedication to free speech. Kirk was tragically shot during a TPUSA event at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025.
Following the announcement of the maze’s theme, Goebel Farms faced a flood of negative reviews on Google. This response was highlighted by local news outlets, noting that the farm’s Google listing has since been removed after being marked as “permanently closed.”
In its statement, the farm recognized that opinions on Kirk’s politics and methods vary widely. They emphasized their aim was to foster civil dialogue rather than contribute to division. “Our intention was not to suggest that everyone should share Charlie’s beliefs or agree with every statement he made,” the statement clarified.

Goebel Farms defended its identity as a family-run business rather than a political entity.
