Charlie Kirk's responses revealed the true darkness in some people's hearts.

When the news about Charlie Kirk’s assassination emerged during an event at a college campus, British podcaster Zuby was far from home, recording interviews in California.

A year later, he still vividly remembers the shock as he watched the reports and reactions unfold on TV and social media, particularly the negative responses.

“It was hard to believe it was real. It felt almost like a surreal dream. Looking back on that now, a year later, it’s still really sad. It wasn’t just a loss for the USA, or the West, or even the conservative movement — it felt much broader,” Zuby shared with Pat Gray on “Pat Gray Unleashed.”

“In fact, I think it was a significant loss for the entire world,” he emphasized.

He also noted a wave of anger and disappointment that followed when he saw some people’s reactions, which highlighted, in his view, the darker sides of human nature.

“It’s one thing when a single individual does something terrible, but when countless others, maybe even millions, justify that action, it’s alarming. Of course, these individuals represent a minority, but they’re a very vocal minority in today’s social media landscape,” he explained.

“The number of people who find that behavior acceptable is still too high, even if it’s not a majority,” he added.

He pointed out that since Charlie was primarily viewed through the lens of social media, many who disrespected him posthumously simply “saw him as an avatar.”

“There’s a tendency to forget that he was a real human being, with friends, family, and his own struggles. Instead, people reduce him to just a label – a liberal, a progressive, or whatever fits their narrative,” he told Gray.

“It’s like they lose touch with reality,” he concluded.
