Charlie Sheen’s Reaction to Charlie Kirk’s Assassination
Charlie Sheen expressed his condolences following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA. He described the incident as a significant setback for the nation’s future.
During an appearance on Logan Paul’s “Impulse” podcast, Sheen remarked on Kirk’s powerful influence, likening it to “a giant star in the night sky” capable of changing the course of American history.
Sheen, who has five children and three granddaughters, reflected on the personal implications of Kirk’s death, sharing, “My first thoughts were about a fatherless child, a husbandless wife.”
Logan Paul also shared his admiration for Kirk, saying, “I didn’t agree with everything he said, but he opened up the conversation.” Sheen agreed, acknowledging that many felt Kirk had the potential to be president one day.
The discussion took a serious turn as they recalled their reactions to the news of Kirk’s death. While recording another podcast with Joe Rogan, they were informed of the tragic news. Sheen remembered how they were interrupted mid-conversation when a staff member broke the news. Sheen noted, “An earthquake,” illustrating the shock they felt.
Sheen praised Kirk, stating that he never underestimated anyone and emphasized that Kirk was respectful when engaging in debates, contrasting this with more hostile interactions that often occur in political discussions.
Paul commented on the disturbing reality of celebrating violence. He reiterated that Kirk was a man of reason, respected for engaging with people on campuses without resorting to hostility.
Sheen echoed those sentiments, indicating that everything he observed about Kirk seemed reasonable. Logan added the complexity of opinions surrounding Kirk, acknowledging that while they may not have always agreed, they did not support celebrating his death.
Unfortunately, Kirk was fatally shot on September 10th while speaking in Orem, Utah. The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, faces multiple charges, including murder and tampering with evidence.
