Chase Sapphire Lounge in Hong Kong to shut down in January 2026

Chase’s network of airport lounges is set to decrease slightly. The company has announced that the Sapphire Lounge by the Club, located at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG), will close early next year. This lounge was the first in Chase’s Sapphire Lounge lineup.

Chase confirms Hong Kong Sapphire Lounge will close in January

A notice on the Chase Lounge Directory suggests that travelers will soon find this lounge unavailable when passing through Hong Kong. The lounge made its debut in 2022, marking Chase’s entry into the premium airport lounge scene, which has since led to plans for more openings in the U.S.

Chase has not clarified the reasons behind the closure or if they are considering alternatives. Currently, there’s no indication that this closure is temporary or part of a larger plan; it simply means that the lounge will no longer be part of the Sapphire Lounge network starting in early January.

How the closure will affect lounge access in Hong Kong

The Chase Sapphire Lounge in Hong Kong will continue operations until January 4, 2026. Thus, Sapphire Reserve cardholders and members of Priority Pass can still benefit from the lounge access until its official closing date.

After January 5, those accustomed to the luxury of lounges will need to seek other options in Hong Kong, as the airport will lose a comfortable spot for travelers. However, as a silver lining, Hong Kong International boasts a variety of lounges, making it one of the most lounge-rich airports in Asia.

Where Sapphire Reserve and Priority Pass members can go instead

There are still several alternatives for travelers. Priority Pass members can enjoy various lounges at HKG, including:

  • Keira Lounge (near Gate 23)
  • Three Plaza Premium Lounges within the terminal.

Passengers holding cards that grant access to Centurion Lounges can visit the Centurion Lounge in Terminal 1. Additionally, those flying in premium cabins or with elite status may also access lounges operated by airlines like Cathay Pacific and Qantas.

Conclusion

The first Chase Sapphire Lounge, located in Hong Kong, will close on January 5, 2026. There’s no information yet on what will happen next in this space or if Chase will introduce any new lounge options for its cardholders.

While this closure signifies the end of Chase’s first international lounge, the network continues to expand within the U.S., providing cardholders with a range of premium airport experiences.
