Carter says After the match, he said it was “good” to see the support from Sky fans.

“It was nice to know that Sky Town was rooting for me. The fans were cheering loudly and that really motivated me and gave me confidence at the end. As soon as I walked in, the fans gave me confidence. So I started to feel like the crowd is on my side, the team is on my side, let’s go,” she said.

Carter became the center of headlines and sports media discussion after Saturday’s game when he hip-checked rookie Clark as he was going for an inbounds pass in the third quarter.

Carter was whistled for the foul but was upgraded to Flagrant 1 by the WNBA the following day.

“Yeah, that’s not a basketball kind of play,” Clark said, “but at this level of basketball, you’ve got to play through it. I thought we’ve been playing really physical and we’ve missed some bunnies around the rim, so hopefully we can nail it in the fourth quarter.”

Carter did not answer questions about Clark during his post-game press conference on Saturday, but did address the incident two days later during the Sky’s post-practice press conference.

“I’m a competitor. No matter who I’m up against, no matter who’s in front of me, I’m going to compete. So that’s what it was,” Carter told reporters on Monday. “It was a moment of heat. We’re giving it our all. Offense and defense are on the line. It’s basketball. It’s all basketball. At the end of the game, it’s all love.”

Carter added that he has “no regrets about anything.”

“No matter who my opponent is, like I said, no matter who I’m up against, I’m going to go out there and give it my all, 100 percent. I have no regrets at all,” she said.

The Sky next travel to Washington, D.C. to take on the Mystics on Thursday.
