Chennedy Carter had something to say on Wednesday.
Chicago Skyguard ESPN Rankings Carter explicitly disputed being ranked 24th in the league among the 25 best WNBA players in an Instagram story.
“Why am I last in the league when I average less minutes and have the best stats in the league? This doesn’t make sense. The hate is so obvious,” she wrote. “And so is my field goal percentage.”

Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson ranked top of the list, with New York Liberty’s Breanna Stewart coming in at No. 2. Meanwhile, Indiana Fever rookie star Caitlin Clark, who was violently beaten by Carter in a game in early June and has been criticized online ever since, ranked 15th.
Carter is correct in that she is averaging fewer minutes per game than many of the players above her, including Clark. Carter is averaging just 25.1 minutes per game, which is the lowest among the top 33 players in points per game in the WNBA this year and lower than the players above her.
Carter is averaging just 25.1 points per game this year, 0.1 more than Clark at 17.2 points per game. Carter’s 51.8% field goal percentage is the sixth-best among players on ESPN’s list.

Among the top 12 players in points per game, only Wilson, Dearika Hamby and Nneka Ogwumike are scoring more efficiently.
Caitlin Clark’s play may have earned her Olympic berth after all, says coach Dawn Staley.
But Carter has been at the center of controversy since he hip-checked Clark, sending the rookie star to the floor on June 1. Carter refused to address the incident in his post-game press conference but has repeatedly criticized Clark on social media.
Carter said the Fever had no one to defend Clark on the court and “liked” a post that suggested Clark fell to the court when Carter pushed him. Several other posts criticized people who were watching the league for the first time this season and commenting on the incident. Another posted that disputed Clark’s story.

“Troll notifications are exploding. This is awesome,” Carter wrote to X.
The Carter incident was enough to diminish Clark’s basketball skills beyond his three-point shooting.
“So what does she bring to the team other than her 3-point shooting,” Carter replied to a post about the post-game press conference on Thread.
