White House Dismisses Allegations Linking Trump to Epstein
Steven Cheung, the communications director for the White House, has rejected a House Judiciary Committee report from Democrats regarding President Donald Trump and his alleged connections to Jeffrey Epstein. He described the report as a political fabrication, suggesting that it reflects the kind of strategy used by the media and Democrats in the lead-up to elections.
In a post on X, Cheung responded to a report released on Monday, which included claims from a woman asserting that Trump assaulted her in 1993. He stated that this report is part of a familiar pattern that resurfaces before elections and maintained that the American public would see through it.
“Complete nonsense. This is precisely the tactic the media and Democrats employ just before every electoral cycle—spreading lies and absurd accusations against the President for their own political advantage,” Cheung wrote on X. “The American people can see right through this nonsense. The media and the Left need to come up with a new strategy.”
The focal point of the report is Beatrice Keul, a former Miss Switzerland, who alleged to committee staff that Trump assaulted her in a suite at the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan when she was in her twenties, as reported by TIME. Keul has previously voiced her accusations publicly.
TIME, which was the first to outline the report’s details, stated it could not independently verify Keul’s claims.
In addition to Keul’s allegations, the report included testimonies from four other women who have accused Trump of rape or sexual assault in relation to the Epstein investigation. These allegations date back from the mid-1980s to the 1990s and had already been publicized in various media interviews or FBI documents released as part of the Epstein case.
Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), the leading Democrat on the committee, leveraged the report to urge the Department of Justice (DOJ) to appoint an independent special counsel. He remarked, “An independent special counsel is essential to investigate Epstein’s co-conspirators and the DOJ’s cover-up, ensuring that state and foreign prosecutors have the necessary evidence to secure justice.”
The White House has denied the allegations, insisting that Trump has been “fully exonerated of anything related to Epstein,” according to TIME. Spokeswoman Lauren Bis described the report as a desperate move by Democrats to distract from Republican momentum ahead of the midterms.
This report surfaced just over a week before Election Day, with Democrats suggesting they could utilize subpoena power if they regain control of either chamber of Congress. Previously, Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released emails from Epstein that mentioned Trump, which the White House referred to as a “fake narrative” based on selectively leaked information.
