Chevron Championship to donate millions with amazing Birdie & Hole in 1 Challenge

The LPGA will hold its first major championship of the year, the Chevron Championship, this week in Houston, Texas.

Title sponsor Chevron has increased its contribution for 2024. A part of the Houston community for over 100 years, the company donated According to the LPGA, more than $5 million has been paid out to community partners in the past two years.

One of the initiatives this week is the Chevron Challenge held on the par 3 17th hole. Throughout the four days of play, Chevron will donate $10,000 for every birdie made on No. 17. If one of the women lands an ace, $1 million is added to the pot.

Chevron invests its philanthropic gifts in community organizations that enable human progress, with a focus on STEM education, diversity and inclusion, and women’s excellence.

Chevron has selected 13 social investment partners to be featured through the Challenge Hall. These 13 partners are the LPGA Foundation, LPGA*USGA Girls Golf, National Association of Black Engineers, KPMG Future Leaders Program, Catalyst, Brothers in Arms, Women in Golf Foundation, Cameron Champ Foundation, American Heart Association, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America . , Prairie View A&M University, Donors Choice, Fab Foundation.

Last year, Chevron donated $10,000 for each birdie made during the first three days of the competition. They raised it to $100,000 on Sunday. In 2023, he made 69 birdies on No. 17. In Saturday’s round, Ying Gee Chun hit the only ace on number 17, adding $1 million to the pot.

Overall, $2,950,000 was raised for local charities.

The company also lowered adult ticket prices at Seat Geek starting at $25, with juniors 17 and under admitted free with an adult.

This week is more than just a competition. It will be a chance to see how much money they can raise for their social partners.
