A 65-year-old Chicago sex offender is back in prison after allegedly cutting off a man’s finger with a samurai sword during an argument Tuesday.
Gerald Davis is accused of carrying out what Judge David Kelly called a “brazen, brazen and violent” attack, with police saying answered It was restored early Tuesday morning due to noise complaints, CWB Chicago reported.
The 61-year-old victim was found leaning against a car in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood, bleeding from both hands and missing part of a finger, authorities said. First responders used a tourniquet to save him from bleeding.

Judge Kelly decided to keep Mr Davis in custody as a threat to public safety, calling the alleged attack “brazen, brazen and violent” and pointing to the defendant’s disturbing criminal history.
Davis not only has previous convictions for attempted arson and assault, but is also a convicted pedophile.

In this latest case, a 65-year-old man was charged with attempted murder and two counts of aggravated assault.
