A Chicago woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend to death allegedly asked a Google device to serenade her while handcuffed and dancing when she was arrested nearly a year after his death.
Whitney Wilcox, 40, was rearrested on December 2nd for the murder of her boyfriend Jeremy Rogers, 46, in February. Chicago Sun-Times Reported.
Wilcox was initially arrested shortly before her death and released without charge, according to local reports, but after new DNA evidence came to light, Cook County prosecutors charged her with first-degree murder. could be prosecuted.
Court records obtained by the publication allege that while the murder suspect was waiting for police to take her in for questioning last week, she “ordered a Google device to play a few songs and left her in the living room.” “They danced in the room while handcuffed.”
The Cook County Prosecutor's Office said Wilcox and Rogers had been arguing in their Westridge apartment early on the morning of February 26 when she called 911 and said Rogers had been stabbed, but it was unclear who did it. He claimed that there was no such thing.
When police arrived at the scene, they found Rogers bleeding on the bathroom floor of the couple's apartment while Wilcox was staying there. reportedly “Suffering, but otherwise clean, no blood.”
She told officers that Rogers stabbed her in self-defense during a struggle, police said.
But before he died, prosecutors said, Mr. Rogers berated Mr. Wilcox, who was being treated by first responders.

Rogers was rushed to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston for treatment, where she also told medical staff that Wilcox had stabbed her.
He died from his wounds the next day. His death was ruled a homicide.
Prosecutors at the time claimed she stabbed Mr. Rogers in self-defense, and she was released.
Investigators recovered a large bloody knife from the couple's apartment next to the kitchen sink.
A subsequent test of the knife revealed Mr Wilcox's DNA on the handle and Mr Rogers' blood on the blade, leading to new charges.
Wilcox is being held without bail pending trial.
Her next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 24.
