Kansas City Chiefs rookie running back Carson Steele had an impressive performance Sunday night as the team works to address injuries at the position.
Steele got the majority of the carries in a 22-17 win over the Atlanta Falcons, rushing for a career-high 72 yards. He rushed 17 times for an average of 4.2 yards per carry, with his longest run being a nine-yard scamper.

During the game, NBC announced that Steele had missed his sister's wedding to play in Atlanta, and footage showed Steele's sister's wedding reception as his family cheered him on.
Steele said after the game that there was nowhere else he'd rather be.
“Oh, I hate to say it but… I want to be here every day,” Steele said with a smile. “I love you, Kessler. I hope it works out. But I choose this every day.”

With Isaiah Pacheco out for at least six weeks after breaking his fibula in last week's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, Steele and Samaje Perine split carries.

Kansas City signed Steele as an undrafted free agent after he rushed for 3,294 yards and 26 touchdowns in 36 games during his collegiate career at Ball State and UCLA.
Perine rushed for 25 yards on six carries against the Falcons. The Chiefs signed him at the end of training camp after he was released by the Denver Broncos.
