New Orleans – Superdome was the place for a memorable boxing rematch.
Muhammad Ali regained the heavyweight championship here in 1978 when he revenged his defeat to Leon Spinks.
Two years later, Sugar Ray Leonard defeated Robert Duran in a rematch when Duran said “nomass.”
Now we have another rematch that should be a good fight: Kansas City Chief at Super Bowl 2025 and the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night.
Two years ago, these two met in Arizona, and the Chiefs took a 38-35 victory.
The two teams return to the big game to fight again in matchups that they should celebrate.
Some fans may want to say “there is no mass” when it comes to the chief, but they don't deny their greatness.
The Eagles may have the best roster in football.
It's a tremendous matchup.
There are plenty of star powers for Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kels, Chris Jones, Jalen Harts and Saquon Berkley.
The chiefs chase history here.
They are recorded in the fifth Super Bowl in six years and can become the first team to win three Super Bowls in a row.
“We're not talking about three peats,” said Jones, the Chiefs Star defensive tackle. “I think that's because we're here. We understand that, we know there's another game until the offseason, we know that we can do whatever we want to do. Our main focus is to make sure we are prepared for the Eagles.”
The Eagles are about to win the second Lombardi Trophy after knocking out another dynasty team, the Patriots in 2017.
“We're obsessed with victory,” said owner Jeffrey Lurie.
Philadelphia bounced off the collapse in 2023 after starting season 10-1, ending the season and lost in the first round of the playoffs.
General Manager Howie Roseman went to work in an incredible offseason highlighted by the addition of Berkley.
Eagles coaches Nick Cirianni and Harts worked on their relationship and the Eagles are back.
“It was a story of the 2024 Eagles in 2023. I think it's the disgusting feeling we felt about how we ended last year, but I think it's what you're going to do with who you are,” Syriani said. .
Losing two years ago serves as motivation for these Eagles.
“It was a huge driving force,” Harts said of Super Bowl LVII. “It ignited the flames, it ignited me, and having this opportunity again is exactly what you're at work.”
